At the foot of the Durbe hill are memorials for the 1260 Durbe battle. Here is a memorial stone for the victory of Žemaši over the crusaders in the battle of Durbe in 1260. The stone was brought from Žemaitija and installed on the 750th anniversary of the battle of Durbe. (Žemaitija is one of the five ethnographic regions of Lithuania, bordering Kurzemi and the western part of Zemgale in Latvia. The main city of Žemaitija is Telši).
