Santa Village "Rūķupe"
Rūķupe is a place on the coast of Ziemupe that did not appear yesterday or today, it has always existed. Various Dwarfs and legends about Dwarf life from ancient times live here, but it can only be seen in December.
The main Elf of Rūķupe has been Santa Claus for the past centuries. This is a place where Goodness, Love and true Joy of Being Together are in the air. Here, among the larger Dwarfs, a happy trotting pony Krixis, the always delicious and warm smell of Dwarf tea smokes over the forests, the book of Great Deeds and the year-round Winter Bird stand in the place of honor.
Rūķupe is the place where all the letters addressed to Santa Claus from Latvia arrive. More and more often, they also travel from far away - Russia, Germany, England, China, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Ukraine, France and many other countries!
Santa reads them carefully and prepares a specially written answer for each one. Every year there are more and more letters and their number is measured in hundreds (not in Dwarf hats). All are carefully archived and stored in a Safe place - the Big Letter Cabinet.
Rūķupe is a place where good breeds good and the world becomes many times brighter. Every year Rūki organizes the charity event "Let's Fill the Big Gift Bag", in which both large and small gift makers from all over Kurzeme participate. The Dwarfs' Motivation Brigade collects them personally, groups them, and delivers them as a Star of Hope to lonely people and families, who are not doing so easily at this stage of their lives, through social service workers.
Rūķupe is more than a village. These are Values, Co-responsibility, Joy, Time we devote to Each Other, Care, Friendship and Much More!
