50 meters from the shore, in the sea, the Great Stone of Pāvilosta (Jūrakmens) is washed by the waves – the largest sea stone along the Baltic Sea coast in the Kurzeme region. It stands 3.5 meters above the seabed (1.5 meters above water), with a circumference of 15 meters. During the Soviet era, this stone served as a boundary marker, as civilians were only allowed to travel along the coastline from the North Pier to the Great Stone.
