Upesmuiža Park
Upesmuižas parks, Pāvilosta
The 7.5 ha large Upesmuiza Park was created around the former manor ensemble. The park preserves the ancient, original stone stairs and the former manor forestry building, which was built around 1836. From ancient times, the park also holds a stone bench with a circumference of 5.55 m. A legend has been recorded about it (A. Grīnbergs, March 25, 2002): in that place, a falling tree killed the manor lord's daughter, and afterward, the lord liked to stay in that spot, which is why a bench was placed there.
The park also features the Upesmuiza Park Great Stone – possibly a cult stone. It is 3.3 m long, 2.9 m wide, and 1.5 m high. Its circumference is 11 m, and its volume is 7 m³.
