Project 1836 was implemented as a gift to Latvia in the centenary. Its goal is to create a unifying 1836 km long tourist road around Latvia. The people of South Kurzeme district, Pāvilosta parish also got involved in the project, participating in the section from Jūrkalne to Ziemupei. At the end of this march, "1836 roads" were buried in Ziemupė. For the first time in the history of these marches, funds were donated thanks to the people of the county. With the help and generosity of supporters, the 1836 pole is now also located on the seafront of Ziemupe. Thanks to this project, Pāvilosta county and Ziemupei have one more special and important story. Story 1836!
