When Saraiķu ev. lut. the foundation stone was laid for the church and when it started to be built, there is no exact information about it yet. Two bells that are in the church: one – 1594. ANNO Matias, the other - 1602, shows that it was at the end of the 16th century.
1700 – 1701 during the Northern War, the church was destroyed. But at the end of the 18th century, the lord of Grobiņa, the lord of Iļgi and Saraiķi, Pēteris Jurģis Zigmunds Offenberg ordered the construction of the Saraiķi church "for the glory of God and for the good of his Saraiķi people" - the church was restored and consecrated on October 17, 1798.
The church was built of boulders. It is a masonry building with a typical tower of Kurzeme churches (Durbė, Grobinė, Apriķi, Saka, Vērgalė, Cīrava and elsewhere), which was added at the end of the parish hall. The church has 200 seats.
The Saraikai church was repaired in 1888. A sacristy was added in 1904. A Latvian member of the church gave money for the extension. In turn, the manor gave materials.
