Natural process trail
The 9 km long Natural Processes Trail offers a journey through five ecosystems – lake, meadow, forest, swamp and dunes. Each of the stops tells how the natural landscape is formed under the influence of various natural processes, such as water, fire, wind, large herbivores.
On the way, you can also visit the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum's fishing farm "Vītolnieki" and the Mikjāņi farm. On the way there is also the "Jauntilībi" tent area.
Best time to visit: All year round. In spring and autumn, the trail beyond Kőņciems to the bog platform can be wet.
Fee: Trail and parking lot – free. Visiting the fishing farm "Vītolnieki" is free.
The trail scheme can be viewed here.
