Pape Lake Trail
The nature trail invites you to a 32 km challenge around Pape Lake. The beginning of the trail is located by the Pape canal in the village of Pape, where there is a description of the trail route with a map.
On the way you will see various sights: bird observation tower, bird hide, Paurupi and Līgupi, beavers, floodplain meadow, sacred grove and Ezerskola sacrificial stone, Pape polder meadows, black alder, pine and spruce forests, ornithological station and Pape lighthouse. You will be able to spend time in the recreation areas created on the shore of the lake, enjoy the landscape and nature.
The nature trail is best done on foot or using a mountain bike, as certain sections of the trail in the S and W parts of the lake are wet in spring and autumn.
Best time to visit: From May to October. Certain sections of the trail in the S and N parts of the lake are wet in spring and autumn.
Fee: Trail and parking lot – free. Entrance fee to wild horses and bulls (2 - 4 EUR). More info.

Surface: Gravel road, forest road, mowed path.
The path is not suitable for visitors in wheelchairs and is not equipped with handrails.
