Durbes Atvari is located next to the "Durbes lake meadow" nature reserve.
A very large number of passing geese and swimming ducks concentrate here during migration, as well as the highest known density of terns in South Kurzeme during the nesting season. The rare types of meadows include species-rich fallow meadows and moderately wet meadows.
Also, 488 different species of butterflies, 11 species of dragonflies and 279 different plant species are found here, some of which are included in the list of protected species of European importance.
However, this area is not closed for your visit. In an environmentally friendly manner, guests are invited to visit the area to observe bird behavior, enjoy the playful dances of butterflies and enjoy the beautiful flowers.
Just simple behavior to follow:
· do not throw waste on the ground
· do not disturb the animals
· do not pick flowers, especially those that are protected
· bonfires may be lit only in authorized places, most often they are set up in special recreation areas and bases
· tents may also be pitched only in rest areas and bases
The owners of Durbe Atvari invite you to visit this natural treasure of Latvia and appreciate it.
