Cīravas Lutheran Church was built during the time of Baron H. F. Fon Bērs between 1780 and 1781 in Sudmalkalns. On the outside, it resembled other churches in Courland with its pyramid-shaped tower, red tile roof, and massive brick walls. The altar and pulpit are works of Rococo style art (the author is unknown). The altar, pulpit, and the lord's bench, which rests on the head of a woman, as well as the organ loft and prospect, and the decorative interior details, are national art monuments. The church also retains an old bell and organs from the early 18th century.
A portrait of Baroness Juliana Elizabeta fon Bēra is displayed in white marble inside the church. Several valuable interior items have been preserved, including candlesticks, a bishop's chair, a sacrificial vessel, a chalice, and a paten. Beneath the church, in the crypt, were buried the manor's feudal lord, J. E. von Bilova, and her daughter J. E. fon Bēra. Both ornate metal sarcophagi are now displayed at the Rundāle Palace Museum.
