The memorial site of the first Latvian poet - Neredzīgais Indriķis
A few kilometers from Apriķi, in the direction of Aizpute, lie the Ģiborti cemetery, where the Latvian poet Neredzīgais Indriķis (Blind Indriķis) (1783–1828) is buried. Although Indriķis was uneducated and lost his sight at the age of five, he found inspiration in the church songs of G. F. Stender. Neredzīgais Indriķis was the first Latvian to have a poetry collection published (in 1806).
