Durbe's Hillfort
Durbe, Dienvidkurzemes novads
The Durbes Order Castle was constructed from field stones, and its walls were 1.5 meters thick. Inside the northern wall, there was a 8.7-meter-wide living section with cellars beneath it.
The castle was destroyed during the Great Northern War and was never rebuilt afterward. Today, only two fragments of the defensive walls remain.
The hill fort is now used as a lovely place for relaxation, walks, and celebrations. A walking trail surrounds the hill fort, and there are benches and tables for organizing picnics.
