Lažas - Padure Manor
The restoration of the Laža – Padure Manor (Laschen) took place in the 1870s when a park with an artificially dug pond was created. The manor, belonging to the Osten-Sacken barons, is located in the middle of the park, which contains several rare tree species. After the first Latvian agrarian reform in 1920, the manor lands were distributed to farmers—freedom fighters of Latvia. In 1929, the property was allocated for establishing schools. Since 1969, the building has housed a special boarding school serving children with intellectual developmental disabilities.
