Aizpute New Castle Manor
Skolas iela 1, Aizpute
The original center of Aizpute Castle Manor was the Livonian Order Castle, but in the mid-18th century, a new manor center was established in the present-day Skolas Street area. The new manor house was built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, and the manor owner’s family moved here, while the old castle was used to accommodate the manor servants. The building currently houses a museum, a weaver's studio, a creative center, and a winery. The museum features permanent exhibits that provide insight into the history of Aizpute town and its surrounding area. In the ancient vaulted cellar of the manor, Aizpute Winery offers visitors the opportunity to learn more about winemaking and taste the wine produced at the Aizpute Winery.
