Valts grove and park pond
Priekule, Dienvidkurzemes novads
Valta Grove is an oak park planted in the 1920s and 1930s, covering more than 40 hectares in the Priekule city area. The park is particularly beautiful during the flowering of primroses. It is ideal for walks, sporting activities for pedestrians and cyclists. A great spot for enjoying nature in a quiet and peaceful setting.
During the Soviet era, this place was known as the Komsomol Park and served as a cultural and leisure center for the city of Priekule in the open air. Back then, dance nights were organized, theater performances and concerts with popular musicians were held. It was a beloved recreation spot for the residents of the city and military units, where people could swim, fish, walk, collect nuts, and even engage in a little mischief.
