Kapsēde Grand Boulder

Medzes pagasts, Grobiņas pagasts

This is the highest boulder in Latvia - 4.3 meters high. Its circumference is 16.5 meters and it weights 160 tons. The Grand Boulder is referred as a Protected Natural Object. Various legends have been told about the boulder.

The devil stole this boulder from the Thunder Castle. When the Thunder noticed it, he started looking for the devil. When the devil was found, in anger the Thunder cast the bolt of lighting and split the boulder into 3 parts.
