The Flower Narrow Gauge Railway is a project by the Aizpute Women's Association "INTEGRO" – "The Return of the Aizpute Narrow Gauge Railway in a Floral Decoration." The goal of the project is to draw attention to Aizpute's history with the environmental object "Flower Narrow Gauge Railway" and to establish it as a symbol of the city. The large-scale painting was created by Ģirts Brumsons.
The narrow gauge railway first blew its steam on the Aizpute-Liepaja route on April 4, 1900, and operated until 1964. At one time, Latvia had railways with five different track gauges. The Aizpute-Liepaja railway line was not only the first narrow-gauge railway line in Latvia, but also the only one with a 1000mm track gauge for general use.
