In 2014, at the International Cast Iron Art Symposium in Aizpute, sculptor Kārlis Alainis created and cast a memorial plaque for the deceased musician, poet and actor Mārtiņš Freimanis (1977 – 2011). A memorial sign attached to the musician's childhood home.
