The highest dune in Latvia – Pūsēnu kalns

Pūsēnu kalns - the highest dune on the Baltic Sea coast in Latvia. Its absolute height is 37 m above sea level. Pūsēnu kalns is located in the territory of the nature park "Bernāti" and is a protected natural monument.

Pusēnu kalns was formed a couple of centuries ago - after a big fire, when the ground cover was destroyed, thus opening the way for sand walking. At the moment, the movement of Pūsēni Kalns has been stopped, because the largest part of the mountain is covered by a pine forest.

To get to know Pūsēnu kalns, take a walk along a well-maintained nature trail that will take you to the very top of the dune, from which you can enjoy a fantastic view over the treetops to the Baltic Sea!
