Memorial stone to victims of communist terror
On March 25, 1949, the Soviet occupying power carried out the second mass deportation of the population of Latvia during the Baltic population deportation operation "Krasta banga" (Priboj). During one night, approximately 42 thousand people, including 10 thousand children, started their journey to special concentration camps in Siberia. 240 residents of Nica and Otaņki parishes were also gathered in Nica park - both old and young, as well as families with small children. to be sent to Siberia in train carriages from the Tore station in Grobiń.
