The Nīca Evangelical Lutheran Church, built from masonry, was constructed between 1849 and 1851 based on a design by the architect of the Courland Governorate, F. Schulz. The Nīca Church existed and actively operated from 1849 until 1945. During World War II, in April 1945, German soldiers blew up the church tower. The roof collapsed, and part of the walls were damaged. In photos from 1949, rubble can be seen in place of the tower. After the war, restoration of the church and its interior began. On May 21, 1961, the church was closed, and parish activities were discontinued. The parish regained the church only in 1990, after it had been converted into a gymnasium. Today, the Nīca Evangelical Lutheran Church is operational.
