"The Rucava Center Mill was built in 1937 and was an important grain processing place for the farmers of the Rucava (then Paurupe) area until the 1960s. During its operation, this place was also known as the 'palace of light' because the electricity generated by a steam locomotive supplied power not only to the mill but also to part of the Paurupe village. In later years, the building housed a mechanical workshop warehouse that operated until the 1990s.
In 2020, after the reconstruction of the building, an exhibition was set up that offers insight into the cultural heritage of the Rucava region. It also displays the extensive music instrument collection of the folk musician Jānis Pūķis. The space is suitable for various cultural events and art exhibitions.
The first floor of the building houses a tourism information center, providing information about the current offerings in the region. There, you can also purchase souvenirs with local symbols.
Tourism brochures about the Liepaja region are also available in a small info cabinet near the 'Center Mill.' Open it, take one, and start exploring!"
