The Manor Hill is the highest point in the Rucava area. This place is special for its beautiful view of the Sventāja River valley and the neighboring country of Lithuania. During the time of the Duchy of Courland (16th-18th century), there was a Courland Duke's manor at this location. Only the foundation of the basement and several legends about life at this historic site have survived.
Today, the site features a dendrological park and a recreational area with a viewing platform offering a picturesque view. Continuing the walk towards the river, along the Sventāja River valley trail, visitors can reach a rest area right on the river's border.
In 2020, researchers from the University of Latvia created a 3D model of the Sventāja River valley, providing an opportunity to explore the catchment basin of the Leju sacred spring and the geological surface layers.
