A significant site in Latvia where migratory birds and bats are captured and ringed during their migration. Bird migration has been studied since 1966, and bats since 1986. According to the words of leading researcher from the University of Latvia, Oskars Keišs, "Pape is unique because here we observe the so-called bottle neck effect, where the migratory streams of birds and bats traveling southwest are concentrated in a narrow land strip between the Baltic Sea and Lake Pape."
It is possible to visit from mid-August to the end of October.
