On January 6, 1930, during a meeting of the Sakasleja parish council, a decision was made to build a prayer house in Pāvilosta. The prayer house was built with donated funds. The church building was made possible thanks to the labor of the parish members themselves. On September 15, 1930, the cornerstone was laid for the Sakasleja Evangelical Lutheran Church's prayer house in Pāvilosta, and by December of the same year, the roof was placed on the new building.
