The church was built in 1874. After a fire in 1927, it was completely restored in 1932. The height of the church tower reaches 45 m. In the church, it is possible to see the organ built in 1936, which is a valuable artistic monument. They were created under the guidance of organ master Jēkabs Jaugiies. Organ Avenue is the first in Latvia, which was created in the Latvian style by woodcarver Pēteras Lankupas, using Jūlij Madernieks' ornament samples. The details of the woodcut also include the text "Lord God is Our Strong Castle". The Rucavas church displays the altarpiece "Christ with the Holy Supper" from the third quarter of the 19th century and two paintings by Indrikis Zeberiņš "Jesus on the cross" and "Jesus blesses the children".
In summer, the church is open: Mon.-Fri. 11.00–16.00, Sat. 11.00–18.00 Divine services – every Thursday and Sunday.
