The church was built in 1874. After a fire in 1927, it was completely restored in 1932. The church tower reaches a height of 45 meters. Inside, visitors can view the organ, built in 1936, which is a valuable work of art. It was created under the guidance of organ master Jēkabs Jauģiešs. The organ’s prospect is the first in Latvia to be designed in Latvian style, using ornament samples from Jūlijs Madernieks, and carved by Pēteris Lankups. The woodcarving details also feature the inscription "God is Our Strong Fortress." The church also houses a 19th-century altarpiece “Christ with the Holy Communion” and two paintings by Indriķis Zeberiņš, “Jesus on the Cross” and “Jesus Blessing Children.”
In the summer, the church is open: Monday to Friday 11:00–16:00, Saturday 11:00–18:00. Services are held every Thursday and Sunday.
