St. Bridget's Catholic Church
Celtnieku iela 33, Grobiņa
+371 26191522
One of the most modern buildings in Grobin. The construction of the church started in 2000, and it took two years. The church was designed by architects Aija and Andris Kokini. The church building is built in modern, symbolic architectural forms - like Noah's ark, which saves every person. It also symbolizes the Swedes who arrived in boats and brought the Christian faith to this region. The Church is like a ship that saves every person and takes them to the shores of eternity through the rough seas that symbolize temporal life.
In 2002, the church won the "Best Public Building in Latvia" award. The church is open to everyone on Sundays, but it is also possible to visit the church on other days by prior application.
