The Apriķi Church is rightfully considered a gem of Latvian sacred art, as the splendor of its interior leaves a lasting impression on every visitor. The brick church was built on the land of the Apriķi Manor as a private church for the Osten-Sacken family in the early 17th century. The church acquired its magnificent interior in blue, white, and gold tones in the mid-18th century. The interior composition is dominated by the spirit of Rococo, while some elements display distinct Baroque characteristics. The noble’s gallery, pulpit, organ loft, organ, altar, and confessional form a unified ensemble – a masterpiece of decorative woodcarving. The interior of the Apriķi Church is made even more splendid by the ceiling, which depicts the heavens with allegorical figures (such as justice, prudence, hope, etc.), and above the organ loft, a whole orchestra of angels can be seen. Entrance is free with donations!
