While in other places, the old barons are still revered today, for example, for establishing schools for peasant children, etc., the barons of Nīca Manor were more interested in entertainment. That is, hunting, feasts, and repeating them. Meanwhile, local young women – dressed in full Nīca national costumes, ceremonial attire – worked as chambermaids at the manor, and peasants who failed to fulfill their duties or spoke out against the overseers received lashes at Bende Hill in Nīca Park.
During a walk with a local guide, you will learn about Napoleon's soldiers’ rye bread slippers and why the baronesses’ lovers were specifically pugs and dachshunds, among other stories.
Route: Dairy farm, granary, pharmacy, post office, Nīca park, Bende Hill, post station, and Nīca Manor (up to 1 hour, walking distance up to 1 km).
