Kazdanga Park is the largest in Latvia (~196 ha) and offers extensive opportunities for a good walk. With the construction of the new lake boardwalk and observation tower, visitors now have a great opportunity to combine nature trails in both parts of the park (Valāta Park and Šēfera Birzs) on either side of the Kazdanga Dzirnavezers Lake. The route length can be varied, as there are many well-trodden paths in the park, and directional signs and trail markings in yellow, green, and red on trees will help with orientation. Several resting spots are available along the way. The route includes an old manor park with various foreign tree species and monumental trees, fish ponds, a lake, a small river, and coniferous forest. The area has many hollow trees. The Valāta park part is characterized by a more complex terrain and ravines. A total of 154 bird species have been observed along the route, with a large diversity of nesting birds. Various bird species can be observed throughout the year during the day.
Some sections of the trail (including the lake boardwalk) are also accessible for wheelchair users and parents with baby strollers.
We offer an orientation game and a picnic area along the route. Hiking and activities of various lengths and durations (~1-3 hours). Guide services: 25.00 EUR per group. Guide services with games: 1.50 EUR per person.
