Sights:

  1. (18) Grobiņa Castle Ruins – The construction of Grobiņa's medieval castle dates back to the mid-13th century when it was first mentioned in historical sources as "hus to Grobin." It is believed to have been made of wood, as it was burned down in 1263. The castle was rebuilt in 1328. It is located next to the Grobiņa Hillfort – in Kurzeme, it was common to build castles close to ancient Curonian hillforts. For centuries, the castle served as an important military fortification until it lost its military significance due to the warfare in 1795 and 1812. Over time, the castle was repeatedly repaired and modernized. Today, the medieval walls, 17th-century fortification bastions, protective moats, and steep slopes have been preserved.

  2. (23) Kapsēde's Giant Stone – This is the tallest boulder in Latvia, standing at 4.3 meters high. Its circumference is 16.5 meters, and it weighs 160 tons. The Giant Stone is a protected natural monument. Legends about the stone have circulated for many years.
