Cycling Route Around Lake Durbe
The total length of the route is approximately 40 kilometers, revealing the landscape of the Vārtāja river valley and the diversity of nature.
Route Overview
The starting point of the route is conditionally from the yard of the Durbe Museum, where a small bicycle parking is provided, along with 12 bicycles for use. The cycling journey takes you through Durbe town, past the quiet Rāva village, near Vecpils, through the meadows of Lake Durbe, and to the Līgutu manor. The route includes three swimming spots and a viewing tower by Lake Durbe. During autumn and spring, the area around Lake Durbe is a great spot for bird migration observation, and while cycling, you may notice large flocks of geese and other migrating birds.
Road Surface
There is no dedicated bike path around Lake Durbe. Cyclists will mainly encounter gravel roads.
